ZOURMAN DRUMS LAUNCHES A LUDWIG™ BLACK BEAUTY 1922 SNARE SAMPLES FOR 2BOX™ DRUMIT FIVE MODULE

To extend the Zourman Drums offerings, we are now turning our attention to a custom sound library of samples for 2box. With the 2box open sound source approach, we were able to create a sample package based on a great snare and release it in 2box file format.

The Ludwig Black Beauty snare is a well-known snare to all drummers and treated as the de-facto standard among drummers in the world. This very rare instrument was produced 1922  and despite a history of almost 100 years, the snare still sounds fantastic!

The samples are the result of a joint venture project with Jouni Niemi, owner of Big Jambo Studios, who has been a part of the 2box family since 2009 when he designed many of the factory sounds found in the DrumIt Five module. Together, Zourman Drums aimed to create the best snare samples in the world!

After more than 100 hours of recording, editing, remixing and repackaging of the snare into DSDN file format, the snare sample includes about 10 different ‘flavours’.

How to obtain the snare sample?
New customers can buy the pack at a bargain price on the zourman.com site.

For existing Zourman Drums customers who bought our conversion modules in the past on our zourman.com site, a free version of the pack can be downloaded from your personal account page.

Customers who bought a conversion module from our partners like Jobeky, Drum-Tec or Electronic Drum Center will need to register their account on Zourman.com. A mail will be sent asking for your serial number and which partner it was purchased from. (Please allow some days for handling the request.)

Zourman Drums introduces models with Virtual Clutch functionality

Zourman Drums introduces models with Virtual Clutch functionality – a just great idea which was initiated from a user!

Virtual Clutch is a system where the hi-hat pedal position can be set in advance dynamically between open/closed mode. Just a perfect solution for drummers with double kicks who sometimes need the ability to set the hi-hat pedal in to near closed position – just as a real hi-hat. A switch on the front panel will set the Zourman hi-hat module in virtual clutch mode. A potentiometer adjusts the hi-hat position between open or closed. One feature is that the pedal will still work as usual when in virtual clutch mode, but then will go from the fixed position to closed when pressing down the hi-hat pedal.

The new added virtual clutch models includes support for Roland FD-7, FD/8, FD-9, VH-11 and VH-12 hi-hats and the 2box DrumIt Five module.

Interested? Have a look on https://www.zourman.com

The virtual clutch functionality is offered on new separate models of the Zourman Drums hi-hat conversion module.
Best regards

Zourman Drums ready for the road!

I needed to protect my 2box module in a better way when on the road…so just for fun I bought a small red case at Bauhaus and then used a foam cutter to make room for the 2box module and also a Zourman hi-hat conversion module for Roland VH-11. The result can be found on the attached pictures! 🙂

Don’t forget to read the fantastic digitalDrummer magazine, february 2017 edition which covers the latest NAMM exhibition and if you read carefully in the Zourman AD found in the magazine, you will see some hints of future improvements on the Zourman hi-hat conversions. 🙂
Stay tuned for more news!
