Description
The Zourman Drums hi-hat conversion kit (formally called 42Box) replaces a standard 2Box hi-hat (hall effect sensor-based) with your favourite Roland hi-hat. The solution is 100% plug and play (only 2Box hi-hat calibration needed) and handles both a Roland hi-hat pad (bow/edge) and the hi-hat control pedal through the two input connectors. The Zourman electronics and intelligence combine the three trigger signals and deliver the output into a standard 2Box hi-hat input (single stereo jack).
The solution is the result of extensive research, development and rigorous testing with a range of equipment. Our testing has found that Roland hi-hats are very similar to 2Box hi-hat response, but more reliable and slightly faster. To further enhance the playability and response, the bow sensor (piezo) may need to be “cooled down” slightly with a variable resistor – an additional feature built into the Zourman hi-hat conversion kit. This model also includes virtual clutch functionality which is great for drummers who uses double kick-drums and wants to set the hi-hat in a fixed position in advance. The virtual clutch is easily and fast turned “on” by a switch.
This model supports Roland FD-7, FD-8, FD-9, VH-10 and VH-11. This model also work for Roland compatible hi-hats like JOBEKY 13, 14″ REAL FEEL CYMBAL AND HI-HAT CONTROLLER, Alesis RealHat hihat pedal and Go Edrum GH6 eHi-Hat.
Zourman Hi-hat Conversion Module with Virtual Clutch Support.
Zourman Hi-hat Conversion models equipped with the virtual clutch functionality* will add ability to set the hi-hat pedal in a fixed position in advance – a perfect function when playing with double kicks and you need the hi-hat to be in a near to closed mode without pressing the hi-hat pedal. The clutch position can be set from half open to completely closed using the variable clutch resistor. To enable the virtual clutch mode, it is just press the virtual clutch foot switch! (The latching foot switch is a new feature which replaced the plain switch for boxes manufactured after 2019-05-01)
